Deck Update and an OOTD

Today was a pretty big day...my sweet niece FINALLY said Nene, oh by the way i'm Aunt Nene! My sister called me and said "Klaire just said Nene while pointing at your picture" Shut the front door! This made my day. I can't tell you how long i've been trying to teach her to say this! Perhaps i've also thrown in there "My Nene is the coolest aunt that there ever was" but I understand she might take a little longer to catch on to that one, i'll give her another few weeks.

This is pretty much the day I started trying to teach her "Aunt Nene" I also bought her things like little onesies that say "Obviously I get my good looks from my Aunt Nene" yall...i'm "that" aunt.

So when we bought our house it had one door to get to the backyard and you had to go through the garage. I don't know what it is about us but both rental houses we had before we bought this house were like that. No doors into the backyard. Lame! So when we bought this one we decided we wanted to put in some doors and build a deck. Cue a handy father in law and a husband who really, really wanted a deck and wahlaa! They've been working on it for several months now they are finally done! I helped with the staining but that's about it. I broke TWO gloves staining, I told my hubby that means i'm working WAYY too hard. It's worth it though, i'm so excited to spend beautiful evenings out here.

This is how our backyard use to look. Where those two windows are the french doors went in.

Please excuse the massive amounts of sticks in the yard, we had some crazy wind that came through. Welcome to Texas.

Hope you guys survived Monday! It went pretty easy on me today and for that I am thankful!
