Weekend Recap on a Tuesday

Puppy Chow
9 Cups of Chex Mix
1 Cup semi sweet chocolate chips
1/2 Cup of peanut butter
1/4 cup of butter
1 teaspoon of vanilla
1 1/2 cups of powdered sugar

Pour your 9 cups of chex into a large bowl and set aside
In a microwavable bowl, microwave chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter uncovered for 1 minute or until mixture can be stirred smooth. Stir in vanilla. Pour mixture over cereal, stirring until evenly coated. Pour into ziplock baggie (or paper grocery bag, that's what i've always used) add powdered sugar and shake until well coated.
YUM! We love this stuff at our house. It doesn't usually last too long.

Then I did a little Fall decorating.

I started on our mantle. I dont have it completely done yet. Since this picture i've added a burlap ribbon and some lights into the vase with the sticks. I still want to add a little fall banner or wreath across my window up there.

I just printed this off of pinterest. I'm slightly obsessed with free printables. They are all over my house.

Yellow table got a little face lift for fall.

And of course the hutch!

I am so ready for the first week of September so I can put all my fall stuff up outside(without looking like a crazy pants) When do yall start decorating for Fall?!

Hutch Makeover

You guys know how excited i've been about this hutch. So I put my serious pants on and got to work on this baby. I really thought it would take me a lot longer to finish it but once I got it taken apart and primed the rest went really quick. Except for the doors, i'll probably never paint little doors again in my life. Note to self: NEVER buy a cheap walmart roller again. It's cheap because it's freakin' terrible.

So you guys remember how she looked when I bought her off craigslist
My mother wanted to kill me when I told her "I'm painting that sucker!" She told me I'm ruining it. She's probably right, but it fits in our living room a heck of a lot better now!

I was really dreading hanging all the doors back but it went super smooth, which is something I can never say when I do a project.
I originally wanted to replace all the hardware...but after sitting in the hobby lobby aisle for a ridiculous amount of time and still not able to decide on what I wanted I just used some rustoleum bronze spray paint I found in the garage and gave the ones that came with it a face lift..i'm really glad I went with that, I love them.

It sat without decor for the past two days...driving me insane, she is just screaming for a little love. Soo tonight I decided...even though it's only August that it's time for her to be in full on Fall Glory. AKA Fall threw up on my hutch and I love every bit of it :) In my mind i'm just giving fall a tiny push a little reminder to hurry to town! ♥ It's out of love.

There you have it--It is Fall at the Fullers :) Mother nature is sure to get the hint. I asked my husband if it was a little much for August he told me maybe a little bit but as long as I was happy with it that's all that matters...and I am beyond happy, especially that I no longer have to sit in my garage sweating my face off trying to finish painting this baby. Love her.

My weekend according to my iPhone

I had a great weekend! It was our annual girls day on Saturday for the XIT Rodeo and Reunion festivities. I woke up super early and drove to Dalhart got there in time to head to Jeff's house to watch the parade. Remember how I was crossing my fingers for the rain? Oh it came and it was glorious. It was probably in the low 70's with a strong north wind..this is the first time in my entire XIT life (which has been my whole life) i've ever watched the parade wrapped up in a blanket. I'll take the cold over the heat any day. !
Almost home and saw the clouds and knew immediately the annual xit rain was a "GO"!

Finally got some MUCH NEEDED best friend time.

This is one of my favorite parts of our day--going to the theater to watch the play. This years I have to say wasn't good. They drug it out almost two hours. It was terrible. Not too funny either. However, I still enjoy it because it's our "tradition" so even if the play sucked it's still fun because of who I am with. Can't wait until next year! PS How cute is this theater? Downtown in Dalhart really is cute. Complete with brick roads. Love it.
We also went to the craft show but I dont have any pictures of that. But it's always fun. I smelled kettle corn as soon as we got to the park so that was all I had on my mind and that's what I left with.

Yesterday we spent the day with Kim (mother in law) we hadn't seen her lately so Trent invited her to have lunch and hang out after church. We did a little shopping, she always spoils us.
New owl mug for work!

I got a fall piece for the table LOVE IT.

Some  new chevron pillows. (the gray)

A little catch all leaf for my rings. Thanks Kim!!!! We had a great day with you, thank you for all you do for us. You are a really special lady and i'm so glad you are my mother in law!!

Braxi is going through what I hope is a phase...he wakes us up atleast two times a night he will jump off the bed then cry and whine until someone wakes up to put him BACK on the bed. He can jump on the bed with no problem, so i'm not sure why all the sudden he is refusing to in the middle of the night. SO we found these stairs on clearance at TJMaxx and thought 'eh lets give it a shot, we thought since they were carpeted he would be more likely to try them out. He used them a few times (when he thought I had food on the bed) however, 5am rolls around and he is crying and wanting to be picked up....any tips for us out there? Or is our dog just pure lazy? lol

I absolutely LOVE getting to spend my morning with these two. Perfect.

I'm probably going to regret wearing a black shirt and dark denim once I go outside today.

Oh and just so yall know..only a few more weeks until this is TOTALLY acceptable to watch on a regular basis

Slow Cooker BBQ Brisket

I've been making this brisket for a few years. Mainly because it's easy and I always get an A+ from my hubby. Plus, you can't beat the leftovers. I like to put it in my food chopped and pour a bit of juice in and put it on the small slider buns. My husband likes to slice it and eat it that way. This is a perfect throw in your crock pot and go meal.

5 1/2 pound brisket(I usually get a 3 pound one)
2 cups BBQ sauce (I use brown sugar bbq sauce)
2 tablespoons of brown sugar
2 teaspoons of worsh. sauce (I put more in there, my husband loves the stuff I usually do about 10-15 drops)
2 teaspoons black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
1/2 teaspoon onion powder

I throw in my brisket(poke holes in it, IDK if you are suppose to do this, I just do it lol!) throw all of this on top of it and cook it on low while i'm at work all day 8-5. Opening the door to this smell will put an instant smile on your face. I hope you try it out. It's delish! It freezes great too. I would have taken pictures, but it doesn't exactly photograph too good!

ENJOY!!
