Getting out my fancy camera

When I found out I was pregnant I begged my husband to let me get a fancy camera so that I could take my own pictures of this precious kiddo. We came to an agreement, I could get my camera as long as he could get his big blazer back up and running (boys and their toys)
I got my camera and then haven't touched it in months! My sis in law came over (she is a great photographer) and showed me how to use a few things on it. I get in such a habit of only using my iPhone camera so this morning I decided I want to bust out my fancy pants camera and give it a shot, why not--I have the worlds most precious subject to work with!

Clearly I have so so much to learn about my camera but it's a fun start plus who cares when I get to see that face!! 

 

Do you find yourself just using your iPhone rather than an actual camera?

I'm definitely challenging myself to learn mine, i'm at home all day--no excuse not to do it!

2 Months

 

 

 

 

 

How Big? 11.6 pounds and 23 inches. He was 6.6 when he was born so he's growing like a little weed. He's in the 50th percentile.

Clothing Size? He can wear a variety. NB is getting a little small. 0-3 fits best.

What/When Is he Eating? He eats every 3 hours during the day. At night I feed him for the last time usually around 11 then put him in his rock n play. Some nights he sleeps until almost 6 and some nights he's up at 2/3 to eat again then back to sleep until 7. Either way he does really well!

How is he sleeping? He sleeps great! We have somewhat of a routine for now. 1st nap at 9, next nap at 12, then his next is around 6ish depending on the day. He's started taking some of his naps in his crib. But somedays I let im sleep on me. He's only this little once, i'm going to savor every moment of it, no matter what anyone says.

Movements? He is a kicking punching machine.

Milestones? He smiles for real now! I LOVE it. It's the cutest gummy smile on the planet. I've never felt so much love in my life.

Hardest moment of the week? Trent was sick for 2 days, then I caught it but luckily my mom came over and stayed with me one day to help--she let me sleep. It was much needed. I guess that's not really a hard moment, but it was my first brush of being sick while trying to take care of a baby.

Best Moment of the week? I just love every little coo and smile from him. He slept until almost 7 (ALL NIGHT) a few nights ago. That was AWESOME.

How is Braxi doing as big brother? Braxi is a great big brother. He still doesn't like strangers to come in the house and especially not near Sam. He is very protective and loving. I think he misses being the center of attention though. It's been a hard transition on both of us, I feel so wrapped up in Sam that sometimes I dont give him the amount of attention that I use to. I hate that it happens.

WOW!! How did my baby already turn 2 months old (Last week!) time is flying. I'm loving every single second of it though. Being a mom is the greatest gift i've ever been given. This kid is awesome. He's so good and sooo very handsome. He has the most gorgeous little lips you'll ever see. He pretty much makes my day every single day. We are blessed!!

Maternity Photos

Well, I'm a little late to post these but that's what happens when you have a precious little baby to take care of all day! We did these with Julie one afternoon. I absolutely LOVE how they turned out and I already miss that belly, but nothing beats having Mr. Sam Brody here with me!

Old Navy for the win

When I found out we were having a baby, I prayed for a baby boy...then I found out we were indeed having a sweet baby boy and I ran to the store as quickly as I could to shop. When I got there I was so disappointed because I quickly realized what everyone had told me "shopping for boys just isnt as fun as for girls" and I was pretty bummed until I realized there are other places out there aside from Target lol! Now--Don't let anyone tell you shopping for a little boy isn't fun. IT IS! You just have to find the right stores. My favorites are Old Navy, Gap, Carters and recently H&M. You can't go wrong with any of those!

I found these at Old Navy. I'm loving them all. We are so ready for warmer weather but then again there are precious cooler weather outfits, basically a win-win!

Almost all of these outfits are on sale! If we didnt have snow on the ground I would already be there, but Sam and I are staying home and toasty warm. The real feel out there is in the negatives. YUCK!
Don't worry though, Sam is happy as can be staying inside

 

I'm really going to start getting back in the groove of blogging. It's so important to me to start documenting my sweet baby's life. He's so precious, I don't want to forget anything!!
