Sam's Nursery Ideas/Progress

This is quickly turning into my favorite room in the house, sorry Lady Loft.

Here's where we started out..
She's a beaut right? haha just kidding. It's disgusting. The carpet was nasty and the walls were dark, not ideal. If you can believe it this is even after one paint job. When we first moved in it was all maroon, including the ceiling.

We ripped up carpet and lived with it looking like that for about a week...and our feet getting stuck to the glue anytime we'd go in there..

I got bored one afternoon and started cutting in.

Then my husband sanded, whoop!
As I was putting this on I was thinking oh no, what have I done!! I hated it, until it dried

and looked like this! I LOVE IT. It's the perfect shade of blue/green.

Then stain went on! I hid out in the lady loft upstairs to avoid the fumes on this part.

I just adore it though, it seems so soothing.

The crib quilt getting put together!

I put this chair on our registry but either way I plan on buying this for in there.

This is still the plan--
we've got a LONG ways to go...but the floor and paint were our biggest hurdle so we are well on our way! I will continue to update as it goes along!

  1. I love the colors. The floors are beautiful! You've got plenty of time :) Now that the harder work is done, the fun stuff starts.

  3. Love it! We are almost done with our nursery and I could pretty much hang out in there all day :) Side note: we wanted one of those chairs too and put it on our registry....went back in a few weeks later and realized we needed a different color than the one on the floor. Come to find out if you pick a different color it can take up to four months to come in! I don't know if this applies to you at all, but it put us in a major bind so I thought I would pass along what we learned the hard way :) Congratulations!

  5. I never understood why people cover perfectly good wood floors with ugly carpets haha. But I am glad you were able to sand and refinish those floors to look that good!! I can't wait to see the finished product :)
