Lady Loft Makeover

That's the Lady Loft up there--and let me tell you, when they added it on they must've forgot how hot it gets here because it's basically un-usable until fall. Even with a window unit up there it's still just hot. So I have a while to get it all finished up.

My lady loft has gone through some changes. When we first bought the house it was done up in Dallas Cowboys colors ... hmm no. So I painted it "Cafe Mocha" and was content with that up until recently. I've been pinning a lot of the stripe wall look. I didn't think i'd actually be able to talk my hubby into doing it but I caught him in the middle of teaching a golf lesson and he agreed. Later on he told me I can't believe I didn't put up a fight for this. Smart wife. So a quick trip to Lowes and we got started. I used Cafe Mocha and Skinny Latte for the colors.

Yikes. Those curtains came with the house and yes they are ugly.

I promise he's happier than he looks ha!

We took forever to tape...my husband is a perfectionist so he wanted it to be as close to straight as it could be.

I have a new TV stand that I found at a garage sale and i'm open to suggestions for curtains and decor--leave me comments with what you would do!

I made this chaise lounge. It's massive and really difficult to make it fit in a room--but I made it so I have a really hard time getting rid of it. (is this how hoarding starts?? oye.)

Now for the new TV cabinet that I found at a garage sale. It was ooogly!

All done! Now if only my hubby would get home and help me carry it upstairs so I can get rid of the one up there.

We are heading to a friends house this afternoon to go swim and play poker. My hubby deserves it after painting stripes last night.

Have a great weekend!!

  8. Is the stripe white or cream? I really love it. I would say use a long curtain bar over the window to make the window appear bigger. Does that make sense?
